The Opportunity

We are currently hiring a Driver Coordinator to join our Over-dimensional, Special Commodities Team. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and do what needs to be done to make a significant contribution in positioning a forward-thinking company to the next level of achievement.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Communicate dispatch and permit information as required
  • Participate in and support driver retention initiatives
  • Maintain fair and equitable distribution of work
  • Monitor driver performance/miles
  • Monitor and respond to driver satellite messages
  • Assist with the development of the required driver skills i.e.: Customs, Hazmat, hours of service, policy, regulations, satellites, etc.
  • Assist with solutions regarding any driver concerns
  • Assist with driver inquiries - payroll, miles etc.
  • Communicate & problem solve with customers as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications and Attributes

  • Previous dispatch experience
  • Experience in Transportation industry is required
  • Understanding of North American geography and permits required
  • AS400/ICC experience an asset
  • Superior Customer Service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a keen sense of urgency
  • Good communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong self-discipline and initiative
  • Creative and effective problem solving ability
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate level computer skills and proficient keyboarding
