The Opportunity

The On the Road Recruiter is responsible for the full cycle recruitment process with assessing and on boarding qualified transportation drivers to meet our customer’s needs. As a Recruiter out in the field, the successful candidate must continually be a representative of the Challenger brand to ensure we retain and satisfy our driver recruitment needs. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Traveling to various truck stops and other recruiting events to generate leads and recruit drivers
  • Review driver applications and conduct telephone pre-screen interviews
  • Determine driver’s qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses and comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • Conduct references and criminal background check
  • Collaborate with the Safety Department to ensure all required application files are obtained and submitted
  • Schedule and confirm qualified drivers for Orientation
  • Provide drivers employment contracts as well as pay packages
  • Remain in contact with new drivers as a retention initiative
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications and Attributes

  • 2 years’ of recruitment experience is required
  • Experience recruiting in the transportation industry is an asset
  • AZ License and transportation driving experience is an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to travel frequently, occasional work out of the Cambridge office
  • Comfortable generating leads and representative of the Challenger brand  
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Positive demeanor and professional image
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

 

Work Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, flexible work schedule
