The Opportunity

The Maintenance/Parts Support is responsible for handling incoming parts and supplies as well as assisting with maintaining inventory control through accurate record keeping of paperwork and updating the appropriate computer systems.

The chosen candidate will be a detail-oriented individual who collaborates well with others and is looking to start their career in a maintenance environment.

  • Standard office hours; Monday to Friday from approximately 8:00am to 4:30pm

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming parts and supplies from vendor and process vendor invoices
  • Work with outgoing parts and supplies that require return to the vendor and complete the appropriate paperwork
  • Label, stock and organize parts and supplies in the Parts room
  • Package and ship parts/supplies to various Challenger locations
  • Maintain, clean, charge and test used battery station and dispose of failed batteries
  • Perform routine inventory cycle counting as required
  • Complete satellite maintenance with testing and cleaning components, communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding current inventory, repair and recycling options
  • Maintain 5S program with department organization and cleanliness
  • Perform other maintenance duties as required

What you need to be successful in the role:

  • Secondary School Diploma required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Forklift certificate training an asset (In house training available)
  • 6 – 12 months of work experience in maintenance or parts environment
  • Strong customer focus
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office, computer and telephone skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive attitude and takes initiative to prevent issues
  • Well-organized, enthusiastic, professional and a positive team member
  • Willingness to learn new skills
