The Opportunity

The Logistics Afterhours Specialist for our Night Shift rotation is responsible for effectively tracing and coordinating key customer loads with Challenger partner carriers to ensure high quality of service and pro-active problem solving.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Customer Service, Operations and Customer regarding impending service failures, availability of loads and equipment
  • Data entry, order updating
  • Order adjust load information in computer (bill of lading #, pcs and weight) as received by phone or proof of delivery
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor all truckload, less than truckload freight using Challenger or partner carrier equipment
  • Effectively negotiate truckload and less than truckload rates with customers and carriers in order to remain competitive in the market while maintaining an acceptable profit margin
  • Communicate dispatch information and assist with driver inquiries
  • Forming new relationships with quality carriers who will assist Challenger in moving customer freight within the guidelines set out by Challenger

Hours:

3 Week Rotation: (flexibility is required in the scheduled shifts and may be adjusted periodically depending upon business needs)

                Week 1:  Sunday, Monday Saturday 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

                Week 2:  Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

                Week 3:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
