Wash Bay Attendant (Part-time) Weekend Days

The Opportunity

The Wash Bay Attendant is responsible for interior and exterior cleaning of Challenger trucks and trailers in a timely manner to ensure our drivers have properly cleaned units. The Wash Bay Attendant will also handle building maintenance repairs and replacements in a timely and professional manner.

The chosen candidate will be a detail-oriented individual who collaborates well with others and is familiar with working in a maintenance environment.

  • Hours: Saturday to Sunday from 6:00am to 6:00pm

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Run the automatic and manual truck and trailer wash bay facilities
  • Detail and interior washing and shampooing of trucks
  • Sweep and clean trailer floors and flat decks
  • Decommission sold units and detail for sale
  • Maintain fluid levels and handle various cleaning chemicals
  • Enter information onto the computerized work software
  • Maintain wash bay equipment
  • General mechanical and building repairs/replacements
  • Grounds maintenance including snow removal, lawn irrigation and emptying yard garbage bins
  • Pick up maintenance supplies as needed
  • Maintain 5S program with maintenance department organization and cleanliness
  • Perform other maintenance duties as required

What you need to be successful in the role:

  • Secondary School Diploma or working towards
  • Possess a valid G Driver’s License is required
  • 6 – 12 months of work experience in maintenance environment
  • Forklift certificate training an asset (In house training available)
  • Scissor lift training an asset (In house training available)
  • Strong customer focus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with maintenance tools and equipment including power tools, wrenches, etc.
  • Heavy lifting involved
  • Willingness to learn new skills and be trained
  • Basic computer skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment
  • Proactive attitude and takes initiative
  • Well-organized, enthusiastic, professional and a positive team member
