Key Accountabilities:
In this role, you will:
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers for domestic and cross-border TL and LTL
- Source carriers
- Perform work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Respond quickly to customer requests.
- Follow up on delivery delays or security issues.
- Grow and develop existing carrier and customer relationships.
- Responsible for margin improvement through various methods
- Track & trace
- Responsible for obtaining all accessorial approvals and complete loads within 48 hours of occurrence.
- Ensure the highest level of customer experience is provided.
- Manage and coordinate daily shipments with carriers and customers.
- Liaise with customers and carriers to facilitate their pickup and delivery appointments.
- Ensure TMS contains current and complete data.
- Orders are to be closed within 12 hours of delivery.
- Ensure all audit requirements are completed and scanned into TMS prior to dispatching loads.
- Perform all relevant aspects of Greenscreens including rates and customer quotes.
- Ensure all POD’s on the pod missing report, that is sent daily, are collected from carrier within 48 hours of receiving the list.
- Compliance for customer volume expectations.
- When volumes fall short investigate why and advise management.
- Ensure carriers are qualified in Truckmate and RMIS
- Assist and collaborate with the rate and pricing team when required.
- Vacation / Sick time – Collaborate with peers and management to ensure proper coverage for all accounts in your absence including vacation and sick time.
- Additional duties as required.
- All staff will be cross trained on all dedicated accounts.
- Ensuring accuracy of carrier rating – Any invoice discrepancies or errors should be corrected within 48 hours of receiving.
- Will perform other duties as required
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Education & Experience:
- Experience in cross-border shipping, full-truckload as well as less-than-truckload
- Experience in third-party logistics or brokerage role
Skills & Attributes:
- Ability to make quick decisions.
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task.
- Effective teamwork skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities.
- Strong communication, customer service and computer skills
- Ability to build rapport with both carriers and customers.
