Role Summary:
The Driver Coordinator/Planner (Days) is the main point of contact between the backbone of the transportation industry (our AZ Drivers) and the organization. This role is responsible for effectively coordinating a group of drivers to success through continual communication from the shipment pick-up to delivery and ensuring the appropriate internal departments (i.e. Customer Service, Breakdown, Customs) are aware of any updates.
Hours of Work: Friday to Sunday, 7:00am-7:00pm
Work Arrangement: On-site
Position Type: Non-Union
Employment Status: Full-time
Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000, including $2,000 shift premium while working weekend days
Work Location & Environment: 300 Maple Grove Rd, Cambridge, ON; office environment

Key Accountabilities:
In this role, you will:
- Planning trucks effectively to reduce empty miles; managing the empty miles ratios
- Dispatches trucks on planned loads; tracks dispatched trucks on a daily basis to ensure on-time performance
- Works with Driver Coordinators to achieve driver needs and goals
- Implement efficient equipment utilization
- Monitors and maintains customer trailer pools
- Responds to and resolving driver inquiries in a professional and respectful manner.
- Assists Customer Service Department with any customer inquiries regarding the shipment.
- Ensures the dispatch plan is executed effectively and collaborates with our Planners on redesign.
- Participates in driver retention initiatives including data collection, root cause analysis and mediation.
- Ensures integrity of data in our system including ETAs, driver availability, projected late shipments, etc.
- Performs other duties as required

- Prior experience in a dispatching role is ideal.
- Experience in the transportation industry is an asset.

- Able to monitor and manage customer trailer pools and track daily on-time performance.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and leaders at all levels.
- Able to evaluate information, determine practical solutions, and take initiative.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and naturally curious, with an appreciation for continuous learning and growth.
