Role Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Traffic and Logistics, you will play a key part in keeping freight operations running smoothly by coordinating shipments, supporting customers and carrier partners, and ensuring timely, accurate execution from order entry through delivery. In this role, you will:
- Communicate daily with carriers and customers to support smooth transportation operations.
- Work closely with ASL Fleet to maximize asset utilization and support service requirements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and partner carriers.
- Prepare and provide customer rate quotes as required.
- Communicate service issues promptly and develop effective solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Research carrier cost discrepancies and work with Accounts Payable and Billing to resolve issues.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound loads with ASL operations and customers.
- Complete order entry accurately and in a timely manner.
- Track orders and provide updates as needed to support service visibility.
- Prepare reports as required, including on-time performance reporting.
- Other duties as assigned
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Education & Experience:
- Post secondary education in Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in Logistics dealing with carriers, negotiating pricing; well versed in both domestic and transborder conditions of carriage; Experience with LTL, Truckload, courier, road, rail modes of transportation
- Ability to multitask and a self-starter
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- familiarity with LoadLink
- Exposure to FLX and Revenova is an asset
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
