Role Summary:
As part of our Special Commodities Team, the Inbound Planner is responsible for soliciting and coordinating profitable backhauls from the United States and within Canada, while maintaining low empty mile percentages.
We are looking for an individual with a high attention to detail, a positive attitude, who is driven and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Key Accountabilities:
In this role, you will:
- Manage and effectively plan drivers and loads based on customer requirements in Canada and the US
- Quote and supply rates for third parties
- Trace and load plan entry for customers and third parties
- Calculate rates for loads
- Accurately piecing together LTL shipments and negotiating with third party carriers to generate revenue
- Effectively plan drivers according to Hours of Service
- Work with Driver Coordinator to achieve optimization
- Work with customers, drivers, sales to deliver exceptional customer service
- Perform other related duties assigned by management as required
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Education & Experience:
- Secondary School diploma required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of dispatching and planning experience is required
- Flatbed knowledge and rating preferred
- Experience in the transportation industry considered to be an asset
- Possess a good working knowledge of North American geography
- Positive, outgoing and friendly personality
- Strong self-discipline to effectively complete tasks without constant supervision
- Self-starter with strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Loadlink and MS Excel
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as a team
