The Opportunity:
We are currently looking for one (1) full-time LTL Lead Hand to join our fast-paced team at our Port Coquitlam, BC location. This role is responsible for:
  • Accurately routes inbound freight to prepare for deliveries to customers.
  • Maintains productivity, quality, cost measurements, and strategies to achieve desired operational results.
  • Completes accurate and timely reports for management as required (staff schedules, attendance records, etc.).
  • Applies appropriate leadership style with open communication to motivate staff.
  • Ensures sufficient resources, materials, and supplies are always on hand.
  • Maintains a proactive safety and security program in compliance with Company policies and the collective agreement.
  • Updates Shift Supervisors and Managers on issues as required.
  • Manages multiple activities/deadlines.
  • Identifies, tracks, and adjusts operational needs to meet service level standards.
  • Has good working knowledge of all LTL dock operating procedures.
  • Performs other assignments as assigned.
  • Level 2 First Aid (training provided after probationary period achieved).

Accountabilities and Results:
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures warehouse housekeeping is kept in an orderly manner daily.
  • Ensures shift productivity standards are met.
  • Ensures compliance with Health and Safety procedures.
  • Ensures all paperwork is completed accurately and on time daily.
  • Ensures maximum load utilization of outbound trailers.
  • Assists with the smooth transition between shifts.
What you need to be successful in the role:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in LTL Distribution
  • Current certification (SDCB) required
  • Good attendance record
  • Proven communication skills – written and oral
  • Demonstrated leadership, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated drive, initiative, and flexibility to ensure task completion
  • PC skills – Word, Outlook, and Excel
