Role Summary: The Driver Coordinator / Dispatcher (Flatbed) is responsible for communicating dispatch information with our Flatbed drivers, monitoring and responding to satellite messages and providing coaching opportunities to our fleet of drivers. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm Work Arrangement: On-site Position Type: Non-Union Employment Status: Permanent Compensation: Salary Range: $55,000 to $70,000 Work Location & Environment: 300 Maple Grove Rd, Cambridge ON, N3E 1B7 Office environment
Key Accountabilities: In this role, you will:
Participating in and supporting driver retention initiatives
Maintaining fair and equitable distribution of work
Communicating dispatch information as required
Monitoring driver performance/miles and requirements
Monitoring and responding to driver’s satellite messages
Assisting with the development of the required driver skills i.e.: Customs, Hazmat, Hours of Service, Policy, Regulations, Satellites, etc.
Update Transport Management Software (AOS) regarding ETA, PTA, route lines and service incidents
Assisting with solutions regarding any driver’s concerns
Assisting with driver inquiries - payroll, miles etc.
Updating customer websites related to the position/shift
Communicating and problem solving with customers as required
Track loads to verify if trucks are on time for scheduled delivery
Set up FAST approved shipments for clearance through online software
Review drivers’ productivity and coach drivers on how to maximize their earning potential and incentive bonuses by working with TPI
Contingency Planner as required
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings: Education & Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a related role in transportation (e.g. dispatch)
Post-secondary degree or diploma
Flatbed knowledge and rating preferred
Knowledge of truckload dispatch an asset
ACE and Customs/border crossing experience an asset
TMW experience an asset
Familiarity with Loadlink and MS Excel
Skills & Attributes:
