Role Summary: This role involves loading, unloading, and moving freight on the dock while ensuring shipments are handled safely and accurately. The position includes operating equipment, checking product, and maintaining a clean and organized work area to support daily operations.
Hours of Work: Sunday to Thursday, 2:30pm – 11:00pm Our hours of operation are 24 hours per day 7 days per week, candidate must be flexible to working extra hours when required Work Arrangement: On-site Position Type: Union Employment Status: Permanent Compensation: Hourly Rate: $22.04/hr Work Location & Environment: 179 RailPark Way, CentrePort, MB, R4B 0A8; Dock environment
Key Accountabilities: In this role, you will:
Load, unload and move product and materials to and from trailers and containers onto dock
Operate equipment such as forklift, clamp truck, dollies or hand trucks, etc.
Inspect equipment prior to commencing shift and as required during shift
Verify accuracy of product being received and shipped
May be required to break down skids of product and build smaller orders for delivery to customer
Ensure product is moved in a safe manner and reports any incidents to their supervisor or lead hand
Complete various documents as required
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings: Education & Experience:
2 years forklift experience required
1 year of transportation or warehouse experience required
Ability to lift up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs)
Forklift certified
Dangerous goods certified
Skills & Attributes:
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Accuracy, dependability, and ability to safely operate dock
Flexibility with workload and duties
Positive and team-oriented attitude
Ability to work independently
Proven positive work ethic
