Our Family Office owns and operates a private, well-maintained multi-species hobby farm (“Over the Rainbow”) in East Gwillimbury, home to over 30 animals including both large and small species. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to play a key role in advancing animal health, welfare, training, and day-to-day farm operations.
This is a highly hands-on position suited to a skilled RVT who values exceptional animal care and understands that outstanding welfare is supported by thoughtful husbandry, safe facilities, and consistent routines. The Opportunity:
The LRVT will report directly to the Farm Manager, with select communication and reporting responsibilities to the Family Office and family leaders. This role is trusted, visible, and integral to the overall success of the farm.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Flexibility to work off shift and weekends (events and emergencies)

Salary Range $55,000 - $65,000

Key Accountabilities:
In this role, you will:
(Including, but not limited to)
  • Provide daily hands-on care, observation, and health monitoring for a variety of large and small animals
  • Assist with and perform veterinary procedures under appropriate veterinary supervision
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and parasite prevention programs
  • Maintain accurate and organized medical and animal health records
  • Ensure animal living spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained, including stall mucking, bedding management, and barn, paddock, coop, and shelter upkeep
  • Support optimal living conditions through attention to ventilation, feeding systems, hygiene, and seasonal needs
  • Safely handle and restrain animals across multiple species
  • Train, mentor, and supervise placement students as required
  • Contribute to biosecurity protocols, emergency preparedness, and seasonal animal care planning
  • Communicate professionally with Family Office representatives when needed

Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings:
•              Demonstrated large animal experience (Equine and other small animals)
•              No bee allergy
•              Comfortable with physically demanding work in all weather conditions (Some lifting, up to 50lbs.)
•              Strong organizational skills and clear, professional communication
Education & Experience:
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an RVT
Skills & Attributes:
  • Background in animal training or behavior
  • Teaching, coaching, or student mentorship experience
  • Experience designing and implementing animal enrichment programs
  • Experience working on private farms or estates
  • Genuine commitment to high standards of animal welfare
  • Valid driver’s license (Ontario G Class License)
