Role Summary: We are currently looking for a Shunt Truck Operator to join our fast-paced team at our Port Coquitlam Branch. This position reports to the Facility Supervisor. The immediate supervisor and/or department leader periodically checks assignments for progress. This position has no authority over other members of the team and has no direct reports. Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm Work Arrangement: On-site Position Type: Union Employment Status: Permanent Compensation: Hourly Rate: $29.00/hr Shift Premiums $.50/hr Work Location & Environment: 1375 Kingsway Ave, Port Coquitlam BC, V3C 1S2
Key Accountabilities: In this role, you will:
Primary role to shunt trailers and containers on and off building
Yard maintenance, including managing arrangement of trucks and trailers as well as other movements within yard
Pick up and return trailers and containers to CPKC -Pitt Meadows
Circle check of power unit post trip
Capably operate a variety of equipment- Single Axle, Tandem Axle, 5-ton trucks
Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings: Education & Experience:
Must have valid Class One (1) manual license
2 years of driving experience
Skills & Attributes:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively
Clean drivers abstract
Criminal record check must be submitted if hired within 30 days of hired
Good time management skills
Creative and effective problem-solving ability
Fluent verbally and possess good written English skills
